• Established as a Reseaerch School in 1996, SIKS received its first accreditation by KNAW in 1998 for a period of five years.
• In 2003 SIKS was re-accredited by ECOS from KNAW for another period of six years.
• In December 2008, SIKS has again applied for re-accreditation for another period of six years. To this aim a Selfstudy was witten and a two-days meeting with the international review committee was organized
